Meet Celia Birtwell at Boots

For all my London gals out there or any visitors in the area, tomorrow is your chance to meet legendary textile designer Celia Birtwell. Celia will be appearing at Boots Sedley Place tomorrow 01 October 2009 between 3pm and 6pm. Yep thats right, you don't even need to take a day off work for this one as she will be there right through until 6pm!!

Celia will be talking to guests about her fab new Christmas range, and her fashion accessories and hosiery range designed exclusively for Boots. Not only that but the first 200 customers will receive a gorgeous sweet cherry scented Celia Birtwell lip balm.

Todd Lynn London Fashion Week Make-up Tutorial Video

At LFW's Todd Lynn SS10 catwalk show, the models were seen wearing a striking make-up look inspired by a post-apocalyptical world of sand storms and deserts.

The vision was a result of a collaboration between Lisa Eldridge, No7 Creative Director and celebrity make-up artist and man of the moment, London based designer Todd Lynn. You can now copy this seriously fierce, fashionable look using a tutorial video with Lisa herself. The tutorial gives you sneak peeks backstage at the show, interviews with Todd and Lisa and shows Lisa demonstrating how to get the edgy look, with smoky eyes, sculpted cheeks and nude lips. Lisa Eldridge explains: “The look Todd and I have created has a very earthy and matte feel with splashes of modern shiny and luminous textures smudged around the eyes to give depth and intensity. I’ve finished the eyes with a light touch of No7 Extravagant Lashes Mascara and smudgy kohl using No7’s Amazing Eyes Pencil.”

News: H&M to team up with Sonia Rykiel

It has just been announced that the next designer to collaborate with fashion giants H&M is none other than designer Sonia Rykiel. Rykiel will be designing collections for Winter 2009 and Spring 2010.

The collaboration will span over two collections which is said to include lingerie and knitwear and will be stocked not only in 1,500 H&M stores but in Rykiel's major boutiques also.

H&M have stated that the lingerie collection will launch December 5 2009 and the second collection (to include knitwear for girls as well as woman) will launch February 2010.

Designer: Mara Hoffman

Never one to disappoint me Mara Hoffman is one of my favourite designers. Her collections are always pretty, sexy and bohemian chic and I can afford to take an item home at the end of the day! Mara Hoffman hails from New York City and her line launched at the turn of the millenium. Not only did she graduate from the Parsons School of Design in her hometown of New York but also from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Her collections are often very flirty and full of colour. She claims to draw her inspiration from travel, fantasy and nature. Celebrity fans include Kate Hudson, Nicole Ritchie, Nelly Furtado, Mischa Barton and Drew Barrymore.

Mara Hoffman's SS10 collection has just shown at NewYork Fashion Week and once again I am blown away. Here are my favourite pieces

Catwalk: D&G at Milan Fashion Week

D&G went for a rodeo girl look for next year's Spring Summer collection at this year's Milan Fashion Week. Included in the collection were denim dresses wore with big brown belts and cowboy boots, denim shirts tucked into pretty flouncy skirts and fringe boots worn with pretty shirt dresses. D&G's SS10 pieces can only be described as fun loving pieces for the young at heart. I love it! Saddle up guys cos cowboy is back!

Bargain: George Rib Waist Tunic

Usually I find myself being skint whether we are in a recession or not. Truth is, my spending habits outweigh my bank balance so towards the end of the month I'm always looking for that perfect little bargain .. Cue George @ Asda. Their rib waist tunic is retailing for £10!!!! That's right £10!!!! The tunic comes in an array of colours: blue, black, grey and my favourite purple! I think this tunic would look great with a pair of tights or leggings cos let's face it our days are getting a little chillier (if not freezing up in Scotland) and I don't think i'm brave enough to bare the cold by wearing it bare :)

Trend: Ted Gives Us Big Shoulders For Fall 09'

If you didn't know by now that big shoulders were all the rage again then i'm going to ask you one simple question: Where have you been? Brought back to life by Jennifer Connelly's fab green sequin Balmain dress, big shoulders are hot in the celeb world and now of course a few months later in all our high street stores.

An easy way to wear this trend if you don't want to go all Dynasty is to wear it with a jacket. You can keep the rest of your outfit simple and then wear your jacket to finish it off.
