I've been wanting to try Josie Maran Cosmetics for a while now after I first swatched them at Sephora. And surprise surprise as usual they are not readily available in the UK unless you are looking to shop online.

Josie's Argan Oil

Argan oil is Josie's all time beauty secret, and when producing her own cosmetic line she knew she had to include this. Argan oil is produced from the Argan tree which can be found in the deserts of Morocco, and has been used for centuries as both a nutritional and cosmetic supplement. The oil is rich in fatty acids and Vitamin E and has been used to treat acne, scars and smooth out wrinkles. Hey guys,

So as usual I was surfing about the web (not doing any uni work) and stopped by one of my favourite sites STAR STYLE INC. Now while browsing through their pages I noticed an advert for a boutique I hadn't heard of before. CELEB BOUTIQUE. How could this be?, I asked myself!! After spending a good 15 minutes digging my car out of the snow I headed to Tescos for some much needed groceries. That's right people, groceries. Not make up. Groceries. What did i come home with? Rimmel's 60 Seconds Nail Polish in number 805 Grey Matters.

The colour caught my eye because I thought it looked remarkably like one of Dior's latest nail colours from their Gris City range - Gris Montaigne.

What it says on the tin? One coat nail polish, 1 stroke Xpress Brush for 1 second application. Dries in less than 60 seconds.

Does it do what it says?

1) The applicator brush is unique compared to the usual applicator brushes you see with nail polishes. The brush is fatter and yes was able to cover my nail with one stroke :)

2) After 60 seconds the nail polish is more or less dry, however i still think you need to be careful as you can get that smudgey look through your colour if something presses too hard up against it (for instance, if you are rummaging through your make up bag.)

Overall Conclusion? I love this colour, it dries quick enough for me, and for £3 i'm happy that I have a colour close enough to the likes of Dior and Chanel grey nail polishes!!

Givency Phenomen'eyes Mascara

On a recent visit to my local Debenhams I stopped by the Givenchy counter to pick up their Photogenic foundation as I had ran out and had a party that night!! The Beauty halls are like a sweetie shop to me, so i'm guaranteed to come out with more than I had intended to, and this time was no different. Q the Givenchy Phenomen'eyes Mascara ...

What it says on the tin: A revolutionary new mascara designed to grip at lashes starting at the roots!

Does it do what it says: I must admit I'd be lying if i said that i was not startled when i first saw the wand/brush of this mascara. It steps away from the usual conventional lash wand and instead has a 360 degree spiky ball to guarantee every lash is caught from every angle. Upon closer inspection you will see that the ball has what is known as "Strectch Extension" fibres. These are designed to lengthen your lashes by coating them in the product first of all and then it literally streeeeeeeeeeeeeeetches them out :)

Now on first application of this i noticed a considerable difference which I was quite surprised about because I have often fell victim to believing in the hype!! Yes i have long lashes in general, but this was incredible!!

When using the Givenchy Phenomen'eyes Mascara i don't feel the need to apply false eyelashes for nights out because I feel that what i get from the mascara is sufficient enough. My only gripe would be that i sometimes notice mascara goop underneath my eye, however this may just be me, and not apply to everyone else.

Givenchy is available online and at department stores. UK price is £19.50 and US price is $28.

Have you guys tried or thinking about trying Givenchy Phenomen'eyes? What did you guys think? Did anyone else experience the mascara goop below the eyes?

Mac Tartan Tale: 6 Dashing Lassie Eyeshadows

Hey guys,

When I received my latest email from Mac in my inbox about their latest collection I knew it was going to be dangerous for the ol' bank balance! The email was in regards to Mac's 2010 holiday collection entitled "Tartan Tale". The collection consists of limited edition eyeshadows, pencils, pallettes, nail polishes, lip glosses etc etc. Over the next week I will be reviewing and taking swatches of the products I bought from the collection and from their online store in general.

The Dashing Lassies Pallette consists of 6 eyeshadows which I would describe as a couple of neutrals and the rests browns and darks. The Packaging strays from the usual black MAC packaging and instead we have a really cute tartan topped eyeshadow pallette - I'm not sure what the material of the tartan is but it is actual material they have used for the front of the pallette. It also has a gold MAC shield thingy attached in the middle. (Pics below.)

Okay so the six eyeshadows that are in the pallette are as follows: A Dashing Lassie (cream beige with a frosty finish) Once Upon a Time (Champagne with a veluxe pearl finish) Magical Mist (brown mushroom colour with a lustre finish) Bronze (metallic bronze copper with frosty finish) Buckwheat (dark brown with a frosty finish) and Showstopper (dark dark brown with a matte finish, it should be noted that this is not very pigmented I had to swipe my finger a few times just to get a colour that could be picked up by the camera.)

In total if you decide to go for the pallette you will be getting 5.3g/0.19oz of eyeshadow and also a tiny 213SE brush to apply with.

Yogi's Fun in the Snow

So last night around 12:30am i noticed a lot of chitter chatter on FB about a snow blizzard, like a little excited child i immediately ran to my windows yanked my curtains open and to my delight was faced with what I could only describe as the perfect winter wonderland :) I don't know about you guys but when you've got things to do and places to be the snow can be a right pain in the butt! However, when you're tucked up all cosy in your house with the heating on, watching it fall can be pretty delightful. And if you're anything like me you'll be sitting there with a large mug of hot coco with marshmallows!!

Yogi also loves the snow which I have been informed by my friends is quite strange for a dog. None of their dogs like the snow, but then Yogi is something else :) Here's his fun in the snow from earlier this morning :D

Hi everyone, I'm back after a crazy long break from blogging. I'm back at uni full time now so I have a lot more time on my hands to update my blog than when i did working full time.

So after hearing from a few of the other bloggers about Haus of Gloi, I had to check them out for myself and I was more than pleasantly surprised!! Let me tell you a little bit about Haus of Gloi before i start raving about the products I bought.

Haus of Gloi is a store based in the United States and they are 100% vegan! The two owners Britt and Matt are Vegans themselves and pride themselves in their business remaining vegan friendly. The store specialises in body scrubs, lotions, handmade soaps and perfume oils. As well as this if you visit during holiday seasons such as Halloween and Christmas you will find an array of different themed body goodies ... which is where i got sucked in :)

After reading The Gloss Goss's review on Haus of Gloi I immediately rushed over to have a look at their online store in the hope that they would still have some of their Halloween stock left over. To my delight I got my hands on Pumpkin Queen Pumpkin Butter and Hex Soft Bubbling Scrub.

Pumpkin Queen is described as:

"Sweet hay pillows, pumpkin flesh, ripe peaches dusted with clove, nutmeg. Summer's last herb pickings, hung and dried, lastly a glowing crown of amber."

The scent of Pumpkin Queen is very unique. I was really surprised at how amazing it smelled that I spent most of the day smelling my arm that I had applied it too. The only way I can describe this product is ginger biscuits. Thats the first thing that comes to mind everytime I look at the jar now!! The texture of the lotion is very creamy and luxurious and it sinks blissfully into your skin and well dont get me started on those ginger biscuits again!! Each product on the site comes in two sizes: a sample size and a full size. I bought sample sizes for my first haul and by god do I wish i had purchased a full tub now, and not only that 3 or 4 of them cos I cant wait till next halloween to purchase more :( ... Conclusion on Pumpkin Queen? LOVE IT <3

Now on to Hex

How cute are these tubs!! I don't want to throw them out when they are done cos they are just too cute!! So Hex is a bubbling scrub for while you are in the bath or shower. I had never used a bubbling scrub so I was intrigued as to what was gonna happen once I started lathering it up. To give you an idea when the scrub is not wet its like a dry grainy oily gritty ... well you get the idea (i hope). Once you start lathering it into wet hands it immediately turns to this soft and yes bubbly exfoliatey type lather with another amazing scent that I'm gonna find it hard to describe ... so i'm gonna leave it at its an amazing sweet scent.

Here is how it is described on the tub:

"You've been bewitched! Lecherous and troublesome: brackish amber, aged vanilla bean and three dark fruits, veiled in darkness and otherworldly secrecy."

Now for the serious info (so listen up guys!)

Prices start at $4.50 and I can't see any above $15 :)

International Shipping is relatively cheap too, I can't give you an exact figure as it changes with the amount in the basket, but its very good!!

Latest Buy: MAC Strobe Cream

On a recent visit to my local MAC counter at Frasers I was introduced to Strobe Cream, and I am HOOKED!! I use this under my make up in place of moisturiser. The results are fantastic, not only do I find that my make up stays on longer .. hours longer, but my complexion looks amazing, perfect and silky too. The girls at the counter were good in that they gave me a sample of this away with me to try out, and after a couple of days of use I was right back at the counter buying my very own tube of Strobe Cream!! This is now my essential item .. I won't be able to live with out this now that i've found it.

Lindsay Lohan will be facing her toughest audience yet tomorrow at Paris Fashion Week when she unveils her SS10 collection for fashion house Emanuel Ungaro. The collection is a mix of bright pink and orange colours, sequins and monochrome leather and silk tailoring and is designed by Lohan herself and designer Estrella Archs. Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph Lohan had this to say “This is the real me .. working with Estrella and the team at Ungaro is a dream come true. “Fashion is one of my favourite things in the world and this is the best week of my life. News: H&M to team up with Sonia Rykiel

It has just been announced that the next designer to collaborate with fashion giants H&M is none other than designer Sonia Rykiel. Rykiel will be designing collections for Winter 2009 and Spring 2010.

The collaboration will span over two collections which is said to include lingerie and knitwear and will be stocked not only in 1,500 H&M stores but in Rykiel's major boutiques also.

H&M have stated that the lingerie collection will launch December 5 2009 and the second collection (to include knitwear for girls as well as woman) will launch February 2010.

Never one to disappoint me Mara Hoffman is one of my favourite designers. Her collections are always pretty, sexy and bohemian chic and I can afford to take an item home at the end of the day! Mara Hoffman hails from New York City and her line launched at the turn of the millenium. Not only did she graduate from the Parsons School of Design in her hometown of New York but also from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Her collections are often very flirty and full of colour. She claims to draw her inspiration from travel, fantasy and nature. Celebrity fans include Kate Hudson, Nicole Ritchie, Nelly Furtado, Mischa Barton and Drew Barrymore.

D&G went for a rodeo girl look for next year's Spring Summer collection at this year's Milan Fashion Week. Included in the collection were denim dresses wore with big brown belts and cowboy boots, denim shirts tucked into pretty flouncy skirts and fringe boots worn with pretty shirt dresses. Bargain: George Rib Waist Tunic

Usually I find myself being skint whether we are in a recession or not. Truth is, my spending habits outweigh my bank balance so towards the end of the month I'm always looking for that perfect little bargain .. Cue George @ Asda. I've known about Eyeko for some time now, and always wanted to purchase one of their items but wanted to try before i buyed. I could never find any Eyeko stockists in Glasgow and then just the other day I was walking through Superdrug when I came across loads of it. To say i was like a kid in a candy store was an understatement. I got nail polishes and lipglosses, and I love them all ... not to mention they were dirt cheap! The nail polishes were around £1.50 im sure as was the lipgloss which i got in Cupcake flavour by the way :) it smells lovely and tastes fabby not that you are suppose to be tasting your lip gloss but i couldn't help it! It comes in the cutest little tin and you apply with your finger as you would do lip balm in a tin. My cupcake is a transparent lip gloss with a very slight glitter shimmer through it. It is gorgeous i love it!

The nail polish that i got is fab too, it comes in the tiniest little bottle I have ever seen, i think that was what was so appealing about it and the colour i got was called pastel polish which is a very pal bluey colour. It goes on really easily and you don't need to keep dunking your brush back in the polish to get a good colour on your nails! Will definetely be going back to Eyeko for more cute goodies to add to my collection. Think I will be heading for their fat balm next ... looks intriguing!!

News: Is Ugly Betty Getting a Makeover?

Okay so Summer is gone and the cold nights are coming in which is depressing BUT that also means that fall tv is about to commence with the return of all my fave tv shows including my girl Ugly Betty :) I can't wait!! However, I'm hearing on the blogosphere that Ugly Betty might just not be so ugly anymore. That's right Betty Suarez is supposedly getting a makeover for season three to go along with her new role at fashion magazine/bible Mode! I'm not sure how I feel about this, somehow Pretty Betty doesn't quite have the same ring but no doubt i will love her none the less ugly or pretty. She rocks!!!

Hey Hey! Welcome to my very first blog post. I have never done this before so please be patient with me!

Being a victim of child and teenage acne I have just about tried every product on the market claiming to be a blemish/spot fighter and I have on more than one occasion been very disappointed with the results. Despite all the blemish fighting products on the market I always find myself going back to my Clinique Clear Blemish Gel. It is my favourite spot fighting product and always does the trick for me. It is transparent in colour therefore you can where it out and about and not only when you are in hiding. When you first pop it on that nasty spot it will sting a little bit, but hey this is how you know it's working right? Within an hour or two of application my pesty spot has not only reduced in size but the redness has faded considerably. The bottle will last you forever as you only need to apply a tiny amount to each spot. At £12 a bottle you're getting yourself a bargain as well.
